Curation & Art Consultancy
I have over seven years curatorial and management experience working in the arts sector in London, planning and organising exhibitions of contemporary art and events, including live performances, reading, screenings and lectures.
I founded La Scatola Gallery, Shoreditch, in 2010, to promote emerging artists in the UK. There I project managed and delivered over thirty shows within the intended budget and deadline, directing the gallery’s team and external stakeholders. Since November 2013 La Scatola Gallery Website is a platform devoted to digital art and operates online. There I run #Post, a virtual residency, hosting a different artist each month. The residency programme is focused on artists who engage with the digital in the internet age, using La Scatola’s website as the gallery space.
CURATING AND EXHIBITION PLANNING: I am an independent curator and I provide curatorial and art advisory services for private individuals, museums, corporate and nonprofit collections. I have built strong experience curating and project managing permanent exhibitions for corporate collections and institutions. I also work on temporary or rotating exhibitions for private galleries, art fairs and nonprofits, always designing an exhibition program revolving around the client’s interests, budgets, and objectives. I can help clients with: Exhibition Planning and Venue Sourcing, Marketing, PR & Communication of Exhibtions, Coordination of Special Events including panel discussions and special tours, Transportation, Delivery and Installation of artworks.
DIGITAL CURATION: My areas of special interest and expertise include early career artists and new media. My work and research focus on art and technology within contemporary network culture. I have curated and produced several digital experiences for private galleries, festivals, art fairs and online platforms.
ART ACQUISITION: I am extremely proud of the relationships I have built with local, regional and national artists at various career stages. Through my experience and network I help clients acquire art works from private dealers, commercial galleries, nonprofit organisations and artists.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Strong experience in managing multiple sites projects, numerous multidisciplinary artists, phased installations and long-distance commission. I work with my clients to decide the best use of their budget, including presenting written proposals and reviewing floor plans.
DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION: I supervise on-site installations and work with installers to ensure that every artwork is installed professionally. I regularly work with the most reliable shipping companies, and have extensive knowledge of art law and the UK and international VAT regulation, through studying at Christie's.
